Carolyn Y. Williams was appointed Registrar of the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles, on March 10, 2010. She is the 28th Registrar appointed since the creation of the position in 1907, and the first female to serve as Ohio's Registrar of Motor Vehicles. A 37-year employee of the State of Ohio, Williams served as Acting Registrar of the Ohio BMV from February 12, 2007 to April 15, 2007 and from August 1, 2009 to March 10, 2010. During her tenure with Ohio BMV, Williams also has served as Assistant Chief of the Driver License Division, Chief of the Driver License Division, Chief of License Support Services, and Deputy Administrator for Owner/Operator Services. Her previous state service was with the Department of Mental Health and the Department of Youth Services. A graduate of Franklin University, Williams resides in Columbus. |
